Frequently asked questions

What is included in the retreats?
  • Accommodation (your choice of rooms/ chalets/ types)

  • All meals, snacks, teas and coffee

  • Facilitated activities, and all materials

What should I bring?
  • Comfortable clothing for the 3 days of the retreat. Include layers, for the changeable spring weather!

  • Any portable hobbies you have (books, gaming devices, journals, colouring in, musical instruments, etc.)

  • Bushwalking shoes and clothes, sunscreen, hat, water bottle, rain jacket.

  • Any favoured snacks/ treats.

  • Bathers and towel, if you want to swim in the pool.

If you forget any essentials, Nannup is a small town with a basic IGA, many cafes, a liquor store, and several gift shops.

Will it be over-whelming?

This is a natural concern for HSPs - we're easily over-stimulated!

  • All activities are optional (genuinely - no shame if you're not feeling it!).

  • There is more free time than scheduled time. Here's an example itinerary.

  • Meals can be eaten in the communal area, or back in your cabin.

The intention for this retreat is to have companionship available, when you want it. With privacy always available, no questions asked.

It's about what you feel like, at that moment. This retreat is an opportunity to practise listening to your self.

What if I have dietary requirements/ preferences?

That's no trouble at all. Dietary intolerances and preferences are common among HSPs.

You do not have to have been diagnosed with intolerances - you know your body.

Please help me ensure you get the most out of your retreat, by letting me know your needs at amy@hspsdownunder.com or on 0491 130 533.

What food/ drinks should I expect?
  • Breakfast supplies are provided for you to prepare in your cabin/ room/ dome. (E.g. toast, spreads, yoghurt, fruit, cereals, etc.)

  • Lunches and dinners are prepared by various local caterers. Details can be provided if you would like to speak to caterers directly.

  • Snacks will be available at all times. (e.g. fruit, nuts, crackers, dips, snack bars, biscuits, etc.)

  • Morning & afternoon tea will include snacks and baked goods (e.g. scones with jam & cream)

  • Herbals teas are provided (e.g. peppermint, chamomile, green, lemon, etc.)

  • Coffee (including decaf) will be provided in sachets, bags and instant granules.

  • A selection of milks will be available (e.g. soy, almond, coconut, oat).

What can I do during free time?

Downtime can be spent

  • in your cute unique accommodation (all options have a high degree of privacy and cosy-ness),

  • in the communal area,

  • going for a stunning nature walk along the river (accessed directly from the property),

  • wandering around the cute township of Nannup (it has great giftshops!),

  • exploring the local region for artisanal cheeses, wine, etc.

There are a lot of secluded spots to find around the property, in which you can engage in journalling, hobbies, afternoon naps, etc.

The design of the retreat is to make it very easy for you to control when you want to be around people, and when you want solitude. Moment by moment.

Is it for me?

Do you feel other people's feelings? (Or on behalf of pets, inanimate objects, etc.)? Odds are, you're in the 20% of the population who are Highly Sensitive. You are welcome.

Note: This group isn't therapy. The benefits are therapeutic, but if you're in the depths of a black hole, then a HSP Retreat isn't your first stop. (Infinite hugs if that's you right now <3)
